This January marks the 60th anniversary of Keith Roderick’s illustrious career in the insurance industry. Keith’s dedication, expertise and generosity is well known throughout Geelong and across the Insurance Industry. We celebrate his unwavering dedication to his clients which is the cornerstone of his success. His commitment to providing great service to his clients coupled with his deep-seated integrity has earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues & clients alike.
A brief history
Keith started his career on the 13th of January 1964 with The National Insurance Company of New Zealand based in Melbourne. Keith’s time with “The National” involved many roles and led to him being relocated to Geelong in 1975 as a Branch Manager. In Geelong he developed many long-standing friendships with clients and industry figures. His friendship with Mr Laurie Dean led to the establishment of Dean & Roderick Insurance Agents Pty Ltd in 1986 in Retreat Road, Newtown. Dean & Roderick Insurance Agents became a respected business and successful partnership until Mr Dean retired in 1993 when Keith became the sole owner.
Dean & Roderick Insurance Agents changed to Dean & Roderick Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd in 1992, a change that saw the business move from being an agent of the insurers to a broker who works for the client. Following a move to Yarra Street in 1998, Keith changed the business name to Roderick Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd (RIB) and he never looked back, Keith has worked tirelessly to grow RIB into what it is today, a successful family business providing personalised insurance advice & service to over 6000 clients with 40 staff in our Geelong & Werribee Offices. Who would have thought 60 years later Keith would still be working in an industry he loves with his family and loyal team.
A Champion of Education & Mentorship
Whilst Keith’s focus is and has always been, looking after his clients and providing them the assistance they need in insurance matters, along the way he has managed to involve himself in many other areas and gained some personal accolades. Keith has been a dedicated advocate for education and mentorship within the insurance industry. Recognising the importance of continuous learning and development he has invested time and resources into nurturing the next generation of insurance professionals. Keith has empowered countless individuals to excel in their careers with many going on to fulfilling and successful insurance roles.
Keith is passionate about the Insurance Industry and has held various positions in Industry related associations such as:
- Honorary Membership with ANZIIF for over 40 years of membership
- President of RIBA (Regional Insurance Brokers Association)
- President of Geelong Insurance Institute
- Member of various institute committee’s
Community Involvement
Keith is known for his generosity in the Geelong Community particularly with many sponsorships and donations made to a host of community groups and local charities. A strong advocate for local sport, Keith supports many local teams – you will spot the Roderick Signage at sports clubs across the region. Roderick Insurance Brokers is proud to be a named sponsor of the Geelong Supercats and is a strong supporter of Basketball Geelong.
